A PUBLIC HEARING will be held by the Bedford Borough Council on Monday, November 1, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., in the Borough Office, 244 West Penn Street, Bedford, Pennsylvania 15522. The purpose of the hearing will be to receive public comment on the proposed ordinance that would rezone a portion of the Borough from R-1 (Single family residential) to R-3 (Multi-family residential). The portion of the Borough proposed to be rezoned is described in the Ordinance described below:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF BEDFORD, BEDFORD COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, TO REZONE PROPERTIES WITHIN AN AREA ADJOINING WALNUT STREET ON THE NORTH, GREEN LANE ON THE WEST, SOUTH THOMAS STREET (OR LANDS PREVIOUSLY DESIGNATED THEREAS) ON THE EAST AND BROAD STREET (OR LANDS PREVIOUSLY DESIGNATED THEREAS) ON THE SOUTH.
BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF BEDFORD, BEDFORD COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AS FOLLOWS:
- The following described property in the Borough of Bedford is hereby rezoned from its current designation as “R-1” to “R-3”:
The Tract of land bounded on the north by Walnut Street, on the west by Green Lane, on the east by South Thomas Street (including any portion of lands previously designated as South Thomas Street but unopened or vacated) and on the south by Broad Street (including any portion of lands previously designated as Broad Street but unopened or vacated). The properties are further described by Tax Map numbers as follows: E9-D6-47; E9-D6-47A; E9-D6-47B; E9-D7-59·,E9-D6-304; and E9-D6-314.
- The Bedford Borough Zoning Map is hereby amended to reflect the rezoning of the property described in Section 1 hereof.
- This Ordinance shall be effective upon enactment.
