PRESS RELEASE

Weather permitting; the Bedford Borough Water Authority will be using fire hydrants to flush its water distribution system in the following areas between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 25 through Friday, April 28, 2017:

• Areas located along and south of Watson Street (including South end of Borough), excepting the “High Service Area”.
• Meadowbrook Terrace and Church Hill Manor Developments.
• Cumberland Road.
• Wednesday Only – Chalybeate Road and Sunnyside Road.

Most customers will experience sporadic periods of discolored water and those located in higher elevations may also notice temporary reductions in pressure. The public will be advised, through media releases, of any alterations in the flushing schedule.

• Areas along and adjacent to Route 30 west of Bedford to Friendship Village.
• Areas along and in the vicinity of Pitt, Penn, and John Streets.

Most customers will experience sporadic periods of discolored water and those located in higher elevations may also notice temporary reductions in pressure.

Re: Ownership and Care of Animals in the Borough of Bedford

Persons residing in or visiting the Borough of Bedford are reminded of the following, as it pertains to the ownership and care of animals:

• No person having ownership or custody of an animal shall allow the animal to defecate on public property, including but not limited to, cemeteries, parks, sidewalks, and streets, unless the person having ownership or custody of the animal immediately removes such feces and places it in a non-leaking air-tight container for eventual disposal in a trash or litter receptacle. The provisions contained in this bullet do not apply to a guide dog accompanying any blind person or a dog used to assist any other physically handicapped person.
