PRESS RELEASE

In compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Rules & Regulations, on April 15, 2020, the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Bedford mailed copies of their quarterly bills which referenced the 2019 “Consumer Confidence Report” (CCR) to its customers (referencing the availability on website via a direct uniform resource locator (URL)). Copies of the CCR were hand-delivered to the offices of the: larger multi-unit housing facilities, local industries, Bedford High School, Bedford County Commissioners, the Bedford County Library, and the Bedford Gazette. Additional copies of the CCR are available at the Bedford Borough Office, 130 W. Vondersmith Avenue, Lower Level, Bedford, PA. The CCR is a document that provides an overview of the Authority’s system and a description of the water’s quality.

PRESS RELEASE

Weather permitting; the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Bedford will be using fire hydrants to flush its water distribution system in the following areas between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday, June 8th through Friday, June 12th, 2020:

➢ High Service Area (south & southwestern parts of the Borough & adjacent part of Bedford Township)
➢ Chalybeate Road and Sunnyside Road.

Most customers will experience sporadic periods of discolored water and those located in higher elevations may also notice temporary reductions in pressure.

The public will be advised, through media releases, of any alterations in the flushing schedule.

Intent to Adopt Ordinance – Eminent Domain

 

NOTICE

            Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Borough of Bedford, Pennsylvania, intends to adopt an Ordinance at its regular meeting scheduled for Monday, June 1, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. or at a subsequent meeting to be held within sixty (60) days of this notice, in the meeting room of the Bedford Area Ambulance Service Building, 130 West Vondersmith Avenue, Bedford, Pennsylvania 15522.  A summary of the Ordinance is as follows:

AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE INTENT OF BEDFORD BOROUGH TO EXERCISE ITS POWER OF EMINENT DOMAIN TO ACQUIRE AN EASEMENT ON THE PROPERTY SITUATE AT 238 WEST PENN STREET, BEDFORD, PA FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES
